I don't think it will be close to the 900T. Guys are saying the 900 will run with the 850's. The 850's are quick. For what the 1200 has, it is quick. I had an 850 and it was fast, but I am back on a 1200. Boosts program made the sled excellerate quicker definitely. Not sure on top end, never tested after the program went in. It did do 186 km/h when only clutched and geared (45). I had a few small issues after the ecm program so that is why I will stay away this time and do everything else.

What were your issues?

Flooded once at home and had to let it sit for a day before it fired back up. Ran on 2 cylinders when started one morning way up in northern Quebec(-34 C). Ran for 2 minutes and then stalled. Restarted back on 3 cylinders. When you are 9 hours from where you unloaded and everyone elses sleds are running you get a little worried. After those two incidences I always worried when cold that it might give me problems, so I won't touch the ecu on this one.

What weight are you running? I'm right at 100g each puck and like I said, my RPMs are bang on 87-8800. It doesn't pull and keep pulling like my mod'd 09, but I'm more than happy with this one stock with just clutching.
do you get the dreaded 1200 drone when doing slow trail riding?

I noticed my sled had the drone for the first 2 years when the shift point was up there a bit, then the shift point dropped below where I would like it to be, but the drone was no longer there so I haven't done anything about it.

You will need the PB-80 clutch holder tool, not expensive, the proper clutch bolt will come with the clutch, If you want a full clutch kit, primary and secondary spring and helix, I'd look into Cudney racing, if you want close to stock or play around with your own tuning you can buy from Cv-Tech directly.

Planning on a pb80 install on mine. How many of you are doing the airbox mod along with it? I probably wont do any ecm mods...

No issues with drone stock or even now with the new MBRP can. Their latest one for the XS chassis is a bit throatier at idle, but super quiet at trail speeds and I don't notice a bit of drone at any speed. Even though while sitting on the sled or standing next to it at idle it's louder, get 10' away and you can't tell it's not stock. I will say firing it up inside an enclosed trailer it's loud, but again the sound doesn't carry at all.

Is this new MBRP can alot lighter than the stock? They claim a 2 hp gain, is stock still the best way to go? My sled is stock except for Cudney clutching.
Not a ton lighter, I'd guess 6-8 lbs. I liked the sound of my 09 that was mod'd and had a header and muffler mod. My 17' was just too quiet and I wanted to try something different. The last thing I wanted was something loud or something that had a drone like the MBRP for the XR 1200. So far I'm really liking the sound of this one. Does it actually add 2 hp??? I don't know, 2 hp doesn't mean anything anyways. It's a bit lighter, a bit smaller so it's easier to get on/off for oil changes, plus is sounds nice.

Nickski......whats the secret sauce on the 09 set up that makes it pull better.....if your willing to share.

or is it turboed?

MBRP header, wrapped
Mod'd muffler
ECU flash
Insulated air box
PB-80 & CR9 helix clutched to 8900 RPM
144 studs
Dupont slides
Lots of venting
ok got it....same deal as me exactly......except im running 168 studs.

How many pucks are you using to get to 8900 RPM? 8? I have 9 in mine with a Gates belt and 8400-8500 RPM is about the best I get at 99.5 MPH on GPS, I tried 8 but lost a belt that day, I think it caused more clutch/belt heat, I've since did a ton a venting and went back to 9 pucks the way I got it from Bill and it's been fine. If I recall I put a used 391 belt on one day and saw an RPM increase to 8600-8700 with the 9 pucks so belt has some influence for sure.
