Sorry for the ancient thread revival. I will likely need to replace an e drive 2 (assuming pb80's are still available).

Anyone running a pb80 with a torsion spring in the secondary (in a 1200 Renegade/Enduro)? Care to share your experience/results/and specifics (what cam and secondary spring, gearing, track, etc.)?

Or is the Cudney kit (cam and springs + pb80) the way to go?
I just rebuilt my E Drive2 with Goodwin primary and i put a Dalton black/yellow/green last year tensioned to 21 lbs, left the stock 44/40 helix, its pretty smooth and super snappy, digital read out would read 8800 RPM on WOT, was a little too jerky on Sport mode so i leave it in normal and its smooth and snappy. i just bought a new set of springs to rebuild it again, goodwin primary but this time i bought a dalton Black/yellow/red and will set it to 16lbs and i'm going to grind the arms to 36 grams

It depends on your individual needs/wants/requirements.

You should take it apart and inspect.

I'd replace the spring and o-rings. And check the button thicknesses (and replace if needed). If you have the 7-sided "rollers" (commonly referred to as hex rollers), rotate to a new flat.

I did put a PB80 on after approximately 20,000 miles (and several rebuilds of the edrive2)....but replacement was not needed. I could have rebuilt it again. But it needs pretty much everything at this point. So I went with a PB80.
