so what precisely does a PB80 clutch do ?... what makes it better than a stock clutch ? ....

So if someone out there could change the cap? Or even machine the plastic slider\carrier.The real selling point is durability...i had people coming at my booth at a few powersport show with 40000-60000km done on their pb80 without changin anything....Because tunability isnt so great..yes its easy to change springs and weight but you cannot ever change the ramp profile as in this case it's the cap playing the role
IF you want a lil bit higher engagement and different profile there is the m8 pb80 clutch cap wich is made a bit different....as for machining the cap i'm not sure its stamped.. theres not a lot of material to work with...So if someone out there could change the cap? Or even machine the plastic slider\carrier.
Even more adaptability with an ease of adjustment.
Hmmm, any machinists out there with PB80s?

That's the 800/1300 spring, I'm running the 700/1300 with a CR9 helix and Ski-doo purple spring and it's bang on perfect. Slightly higher engagement, but very smooth, 8700-8800 RPM all day.For higher engagement put a CVTECH 1151-1133 spring in it. You'll be in the 3100-3300 rpm range on engagement.
with higher rpm clutch engagement, i'd assume the sled would have more "pop" during low speed accelerationFor higher engagement put a CVTECH 1151-1133 spring in it. You'll be in the 3100-3300 rpm range on engagement.
What weight are you running? I'm right at 100g each puck and like I said, my RPMs are bang on 87-8800. It doesn't pull and keep pulling like my mod'd 09, but I'm more than happy with this one stock with just clutching.I put a 700/1300 in my pb80, Dalton 50/44 helix with a Dalton red spring. Did not have this setup before winter was over (everything was stock) and am looking forward to trying this out this winter. Have had multiple Cudney setups and wanted to try something different.
I agree put 10000 miles on before I even opened it up. Unreal how good of shape it was. Spot on out of the box bolt it on and forget it.Simple design and very durable.
What performance changes did you realize with Boost's mod's .... quicker acceleration .. higher top end ?I've started with 8 pucks which if I remember correctly is around 97g. No testing yet as the mods took place this summer. My 16 was fully modded with Boost's program but I decided to not go that route this time. Will do everything else I can with out touching the ecm(no header or muffler mod)
I would put it around plus 15 hp. Header, muff mod, ecu, airbox mod. What performance changes did you realize with Boost's mod's .... quicker acceleration .. higher top end ?
Cheers
Excellent ! .... pretty close to the 900ace turboI would put it around plus 15 hp. Header, muff mod, ecu, airbox mod.
What were your issues?I don't think it will be close to the 900T. Guys are saying the 900 will run with the 850's. The 850's are quick. For what the 1200 has, it is quick. I had an 850 and it was fast, but I am back on a 1200. Boosts program made the sled excellerate quicker definitely. Not sure on top end, never tested after the program went in. It did do 186 km/h when only clutched and geared (45). I had a few small issues after the ecm program so that is why I will stay away this time and do everything else.
