Tekvest is actually pretty warm. I put a layer on, then a sweatshirt, tekvest, then a pullover. Plenty warm

 

I wear the Klim Vector jacket with mine. Without the vest I wear a large jacket but with the vest on I find the XL jacket to fit better.

 

Cold: Base layer, Light weight micro fleece, tek vest, Insulated Jacket.

Warmer: Base layer, tek vest, insulated jacket.

I did not need to change my jacket size when I bought my vest. I wore a large before and still wear the large. I don't know where you ride but I by no means feel the tekvest replaces an insulated jacket.

 

I wear my Tech vest under my Choko Adventurer Jacket. No matter what I put on the Tech vest is the last thing I put on before the Jacket. Choko Adventurer Jacket is a nice warm Jacket for the riding I do, trail riding in northern Quebec.

 

I wear. KLIM pro cross pull over.

 

If you do alot of stops and like to peel down then I would wear the vest on the outter most layer before your jacket so as to get off easier. If you get a chance take the vest with you and try on a jacket and sit on a sled to see how it feels and get it adjusted up.

Base layer, tek vest, non insulated klim Storm jacket for me. I carry a mid layer for extrem cold days. I've been -20 with just the base and tek vest.

Long sleeve, Tekvest, non-insulated Klim jacket and add when needed. Tekvest are warm. Also depends on how and the conditions of where you ride

 

Tek Vest is great for protection and warmth. I'd recommend bringing your vest and trying on a few Klim coats. I don't wear my riding jacket without the Tek Vest. When really warm, light non-cotton shirt > tek vest > Klim. Most all Klims have great venting options to adjust for changing temps

 

Klim Valdez, I would never buy an insulated jacket for use as functional riding gear, layering = more better.

 

I just use a windproof shell with mine.

UnderArmor, turtleneck, sweatshirt, TekVest, shell. I'm toasty down to 0F. It may work at temps below that but any colder than that I'm staying home.

 

Base,mid,tek vest,Valdez or Keweenaw. ..perfect

 

I'm gonna go out on a limb with this suggestion but I recommend...

One that fits with the vest, is comfortable and keeps you warm and dry.

Everybody's different what fits/works for me may not work for you.

 

I have found the lightly insulated klim kinetic jacket to work well for me. I wear a mid weght wool shirt, vest and jacket and it is perfect. For cold days i thrown on a second shirt. If i am off trail then definitely an uninsulated jacket

This will be my first season wearing a tek-vest.

I'm gonna have to experiment with my layering to see what works best.

This is true for me as well.

 

Under armor, Tekvest, Castle charge jacket and also same size jacket as I normally wear.

 

Except for really cold days,I wear my Tek-Vest on the outside of my jacket, it feels less bulky and restrictive that way. On warmer days it is a lot cooler to wear it on the outside.
