I grew up on '72 Oly. I can't tell you how many ski legs I've snapped....but at least a half a dozen over the course of several years.

I was thinking about sourcing an elan or olympic from that era but, I can't find ski legs. I'm sure those wonderful Tillotson carbs are a chore to find parts for.

Nevermind tracks, bogies, springs, etc.

Where do you guys get parts for these sleds?

I admire the fact that people keep them alive. I just don't know how it's possible to resurrect one without having a snowmobile graveyard in your backyard to scavenge parts from.

From various power sports retailers I've bought new: Camso track, bogie rubber wheels, drive cogs, belts and oil seals, engine gasket kits, wind shield.

repro exhaust from goose thompson.

Tillotson carb kits are still available from Tillotson, or generic suppliers.

All bearings can be bought from a bearing or hardware store, they are standard off the shelf parts.

I've bought NOS stuff on ebay that is no longer manufactured (grease seals)

Some of those items are becoming hard to find, having close access to a snowmobile wrecker part supplier is good.

parts machines! They are out there and are not too expensive, but take up space. I've seen tracks, and carbs for sale for more than I'll pay for a parts sled, so - if a parts sled can be had, I'll have it! Lots of parts, and if you're lucky - the parts sled or sleds only need maintenance to be working.

There's a number of people that have tons of parts for those sleds.
Ron Thompson https://www.reproductionvintageparts.com/
Reid Covey at The Vintage Sled Shop( Google search or Facebook)

Ski doo Bob Bruner www.skidoobob.com

Just a few that I've used and met in person. All great guys

By ski legs to you mean the spindles that pass through the body? I have read in this forum widening kits cause such issues with the spindles, decided not to install a kit based on this info. Locating a boneyard in your area is critical! I have to drive about an hour to my favorite one.

These. I always broke them right at the weld (arrow in the image). Image swiped from ebay listing.

Thanks all for the info.

Almost everything you listed can be gotten easily, and is in stock at many powersports suppliers.

Genuine Tillotson Parts: EC Carbs

https://www.eccarburetors.com/

Tracks: Tracks USA

Track Drivers: Skidoo dealer, Elan's were produced up to 96' and that style 1.97" pitch driver can still be bought.

Misc: (belts, wear rods, springs, bogies, bulbs, boots, fuel line, etc.)

Parts Reloaded

MFGSupply

Dennis Kirk

eBay

Amazon

90% of the parts I get are from one of the above. If you need a ski leg, might have to scavenge that. I've got a bunch of NOS ones from an old skidoo dealer, if you end getting an old skidoo and break one just ask.
