1st post, so please be gentle. :wink_old: I recently picked up my first Ski-Doo after a 20 year Hiatus from Snowmobiling and have a couple questions. Its a 2003 Rev MXZ 600 H.O. sport. It didn't run when I got it and so far I've taken the carbs out and cleaned them as well as replaced the main jets and pilots. Noticed the boots were ripped when I got in there and replaced the with some Boyesen reeds and jetted down one size to 370's per instructions. Also changed out the plugs and put a new belt on.
My question is, how can I tell if the RAVE valves are working? I took the kids 2015 Indy 600 out for a spin and yes I know its much newer, but good grief would that wax mine. He has a very noticeable powerband and I would think mine should have that as well. Mine runs out pretty strong and I'm satisfied with the power, I just like things to be right. It revs to 8k and pulls good, its just a smooth pull all the way. So that has me wondering about the RAVE valves or the DPM? Is there normally a noticeable change in power at a given RPM?
