OK, this is a link to the post by 199mods in which he describes the silver-bullet fix that allowed him to run 33,000 trouble-free kilometers with the MXZ 500SS:
I am not sure he meant 33,000 trouble free kilometers. Note that he writes "I left it at home it has 30 000km when the speedo last worked." When a base gasket is changed, it normally means the top end failed. I wonder how far he went on the last build.

FYI, the difference is remarkable between the MX Z and the Mach Z shown in your picture.

So, i resurrected an old zombie thread last year when we broke the windshield:

https://www.dootalk.com/threads/what-glue-to-use-to-fix-a-cracked-windshield.26421/#post-24424069

I finally made it out yo the garage, after a complete season with NO rides/not enough snow.

I didn't glue the plastic. One side was not even broken out to the edge. The cracks were propagating from the edge of the washers. I drilled relief hole to try and stop the spread upwards. A millwright friend of mine gave me an end of some special tape.

We'll see....

The stock windshield had holes for 5 screws.
