The kill switch issue generally isn’t corrosion, but plastic from the rocker switch gets smeared on the contacts causing an open circuit. This thread will give ya an idea how to fix it. I suggest laying out a towel under the switch so if you drop the spring or contact it’s not lost. Kill Switch Blues and How To's

New belt, BR10ES plugs...

The over flow tube had gas pumping out of it. ...the sled is almost 20 year old ..

My wife likes the way it rides. I am not a carb builder.

It is dropped at the shop. She will be getting carb kits and new boots. He will adjust the clutch. The new belt was dragging.

It did start with one pull on the trailer and backed right off no trouble.

I asked the shop owner to ride it a half hour after, as diagnostics. I said put it on the bill.

We had trouble getting the 500SS to run faster than 45mph. We took it in to get the carbs rebuilt and new boots. It ran great for 30 miles and then started acting up again.

I'm investigating the clutch next I guess. There's a guy locally that specializes in it.

...so I found this other thread:

...ride a little bit and it bogs...

I found a guy with a nice garage/shed. He went through it. It's back to running well.

The last guy didn't get the carb boot clamp in correctly. ...also Clutch side throttle cable was pulled aside "funny". It is now zip-tied up to the frame.

Bad idle early in a ride last weekend. One of my Ski-Doo buddies had a can of seafoam. I poured half in each sled. After about 7 miles, the 500 SS idle jumped up to about three grand. I set the idle back down to around 1500 and it ran quite well after that.
