Hey guys, looking at adding a few things to my tunnel. Which rivet gun do you recommend, possibly a rivnut gun?

I am also slightly confused. If you are using pop rivets you need a pop rivet tool, hand or long handle style, an air one is cadilac. The rivet nut tools are only for rivet nuts,, they are not interchangable. If you are purchasing a hand tool do not buy the cheap ones you will be lucky if you get half a dozen rivets in before they stretch and are totaly useless.

I have a Huck hand hydraulic rivet tool. Not cheap, but works very well. I have squeezed quite a few 3/16" ss rivets with mine I just can't do the Harbor Freight junk.

Depending on the job I highly recommend backing washers.

That cheap blue pneumatic rivet gun from Harbor Freight is hands down the one to buy
Thats the one I have. No reason for a manual pop rivet tool if you have an air compressor. There may be nicer ones out there but this one pretty much paid for itself the first time I used it.

Rivet nuts can be applied with a very basic homemade tool, that works fine if you're only doing a few.

I made the mistake and bought a cheap one the first time, took it back the same day and walked across the road and bought one that was twice the price. Not worth cheeping out on the manual guns.
