Owners manual calls for BRP synthetic chaincase oil, I have always used Amzoil synthetic, but have heard of other people using automatic trans fluid without problems. So take your pick, depending on what your want to spend $ wise.
I was usin ams synthetic, but at something like 10$ a bottle, it was gettin real expensive with all my issues I had with the reverse..... I started usin ATF and had no issues at all, I'll likely run that in any sled I ever own from now on...3$ a litre or somethin, hahah!
I just started using some 20/50 motorcyle oil I had laying around. I figure if Harley can used it in their transmissions I can use it in my sled.
ATF, way to thin, especially with only 8oz. in there. IMO.
If you compare the amsoil to the atf, they're both pretty thin....compared to what I thought should be in there... I figured it would require heavy gear oil...but o well each to their own
ATF been using it for years never any wear issues. Plus you save money if your doing lots of gearing changes.
