Same here, there was a company a while back that made a RC snowmobile on a more advance level than radio shack or walmart.

There is a topic here on doo talk of people modding these chepo ones.

I know of a few people that made aluminum parts and water proof Traxxas electronics

Search for nitro powered snowmobile in google and it will come up with some guys site that makes custom ones like a 440 rev.

yea ive seen a couple of those before, there really cool, i like how some of them can go in the snow

 

my son got the poo one for christmas a couple years back (before the XP came out). i like the battery idea you have, but it goes under the seat on the poo, so I don't think a bigger one will fit. what did you do for a motor?

 

You can get upto 5000 mah battery and still be the same size, just might have to re wire it it and add Traxxas connectors, the stock Tamiya ones burn up.

I had one of those revs like a year ago, fast little buggers, heavy but man! Loads of fun!!! There isnt a thing that RC cant "doo"

Oh, I love those blacked lights... looks awesome and cutoff the hand guards... I swear, best 60 dollars ever spent, Im also planning to talk to the guy that sells those nitro R/C's and ask what he can do for me with a track, maybe 3cm paddles???

Got the Dual motors in this beast, havent ran it yet, also shortened all the wires to unlock some extra power, and my 5500mah battery came today cut all the extra wires (lights, etc.) so it saves the power

There was a 1/4 scale gas one here for sale quite a few years ago, wish I had jumped on that.

I'm heavy into the gasser boats, and would love to build a gas ski-doo!

I had a Traxxas Monster Buggy for a while but it was erratic - 23cc gas with pipe. Smoke the tires doing donuts at your feet! Once it got up to 30 - 35 mph it was all over the road, couldn't get it dialled in right, lost interest and sold it.

I would be right there for a Gasser sled thou!

Bad news, after installing my dual motors, i took it out and it went so fast the gears jammed and it frayed all the wires... not runnable anymore I guess Ill get to finding that nitro motor now... TOO MUCH POWER

 

Guess there is such thing as too much power

Yeah.... Thanks... it was awesome before it blew, freakin powder monster i tell ya.... Wish I didnt put that dual in... oh welll... thats life lol Im looking at getting a cheapo walmart RC truck and modding the crap out of that.... AWESOME
