I agree they can be boring if your intended use is on a small Lake, however the way we use ours is overnight trips on the Mississippi Minnesota and Saint Croix River, we pack a bag and leave the boat landing and 5 lock & dams later were in Lacrosse Wisconsin for the night with many stops along the way, my ski will hit 70 mph in an instant, it's a saddlebag trip on pwc's, the old 2 stroke sit down or stand ups we're annoying being a fisherman myself they drove me nuts and would sit and spin in circles in the middle of the lake annoying the heck out of everybody, the new four strokes are super quiet, more quiet than a boat in most cases, as per a BRP sales rep they sold more Sea-Doo Sparks between Minnesota and the East Coast than Yamaha and Kawasaki units combined last year, sales have been huge in my area for pwc's the last 10 years or so and I agree that the wakesetter crowd thumping rap at 10 a.m. and destroying expensive Shoreline with the huge waves they put out, waaaay more annoying that a 4-stroke PWC zipping along Imo

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that wants a Polaris Pro 785!!!

I have a 01 Seadoo RX 951 carbed, trimmed out on smooth water, low 60's. Not bad for a boring looking blue/grey old sit down ski.

I don't get bored on the lake, but I much prefer the thrill of river riding. Out there, far less recreational boaters/fishermen; the Kayak paddlers are the ones hating on me.

The river trips above sound like a great time!!! ^^^

It's all about respect for others and being a responsible rider. Unfortunately, as with snowmobiling and any other powersport, there always be a few that ruin it for everyone.

When I want to get a little crazy on the PWC I head out to the middle of the lake far away from shore. That's been the rule since '95. Yes, I'm sure someone will still hear me out there but it will be quieter. I don't run it off the rev limiter while out of the water and I'm not doing donuts in front of someone's dock. If I'm cruising the lake, I'm following the same path and speed as when we cruise in the bowrider. When I'm in close to shore I'm at an idle. When I'm heading out to "play" it's straight in and straight out. Yes, there will be an occasional loop, spin or swirl in front of our place for a photo op (guest passenger, kid, etc.) but it's one and done and our neighbours know that.

I wish I could river ride at speed. The rivers connected to our lake are all "no wake" zones.

I'll say it, PWC's are sooo incredibly boring. Their fun for a little bit but how many times can you go fast back and forth across the lake? Almost like having a sled on a frozen lake.
You have a point but you can really have fun if you explore a big chain of lakes and large rivers. Living here in Mn there are lots of rivers and lakes to explore . We have the Mississippi river that goes all the way to Mexico and the Great Lakes that go to the Atlantic. Had many adventures when I had my jet ski.
