Both will do what you want. VK will not cruise well over 50mph. Old school, reliable, stinky, hard on fuel two stroke.
I have four buds with vk540s, they really like them except for the low top end.
Very good sleds.
Good to know thanks! It'd be really nice to go back inside and not smell like 2 stroke...

I have 2021 Expy LE and love it with 800 miles on it. Reverse is so nice, push button and it goes, no issues yet. The 900 Ace is awesome for torque and sounds nice too!! And it's not tippy and the skis adjust out if needed.
So much of my driving will be at lower speeds so the 900 seems like the fit for me. I'm pretty much decided on the expy at this point. I get so much more sled for only a few thousand more compared to the vk540.

I think you'll find some different opinions in the Skandic/Expedition forum. The VK is ancient technology while the G4 Expedition is state of the art. Someone mentioned air suspension also, but the LE doesn't have air suspension, that is only on the SE. The Sport isn't a wide track and doesn't have a 2 speed transmission. It does have an articulating rail though, unlike most standard width sleds.

Go with the 600 or 900 ace in ether a skandic or Expedition LE. I wouldnt be caught dead on a VK. All newer ones here have had issues.

Owner loves his machine. He's gone through a lot of machines through the years. This one compares closest to the Skandic 550, SUV model. Low and wide, not tippy at all.

He breaks trails and grooms them all winter long. I think this is the BearCat 540, but same sled.

This must be a complete joke we have been going backwards in simplicity reliability and serviceable sleds. "State of the art" GARBAGE is still garbage u want something u can work on in a couple minutes yourself for just about anything including easy rebuilds vs 4 strokes. Simple 2 stroke with a fuel mileage of up to 15... u want something that will haul pull and stay on top with whatever u throw at it.. get a 540 there really isn't any comparison if you want something that will just work no matter what and not have rats nests of wires everywhere. The 540 is overall the best utility sled on the market there is a reason foreign militarys use this sled bc they can service them easily our forces are rich they dont care about cost.. u can service easy in the field or anywhere not have to take it to a dealer for a spark plug change like doo suggests... oh and u can see the spark plugs.
