Can anyone tell me roughly how long one full tank of oil will last compared to fuel useage? If I have a full oil tank ( about 1 gallon ) approximately how many tanks of fuel ( about 10 gallons) can I expect to get out of that one gallon of oil the tank holds. I understand that riding conditions and how much throttle is used will have an effect but just looking for a rough number.

I target at least 40:1 average on the oil injection and error on the safe side, so 40:1 to 35:1. Remember this is an average and will give much more at wot. Plus some premix for good measure. For break-in I add more premix up to 100:1. But I only use XPS Mineral, so I have no idea how your favourite oil will work lol. It can run with less oil, so if I was in a jam I could stretch the distance considerably without even messing with the adjustment. Fun stuff when you know how the oil pump works. Keep a log of the oil/fuel consumption with riding style and you will be ahead of the game.
I have a 600HO and 500ss. Last year on a 300 mile day, each sled took about 2.5 qts at the end of the day. The old Polaris Indy that went along used almost 4. Maybe that is why it never has given us any engine problems.
I have a 800 ho and you are in the ball park with 3.5 to 4 tanks of gas. Mineral oil for the premix to help seat rings
I use about a tank of oil to every two tanks of fuel...but I also run drilled cases and isoflex delete so I need more for my balls. Lol.
Oldsnomo, that is 1L or oil for 20L of gas, or 20:1 lol. But don't worry I've run that much too, but that was being hard on the throttle.
Jeff, that's the best part, we can run XPS Synthetic or Mineral. Great to have choices. I'm sticking with Mineral because I need a guarantee the oil with be the best to protect the crank in humid areas during storage. Everytime I look at the crank it has oil glued to all the parts, which is what I want to see.

Haha, yes Dagg, you're right...still playing it safe on this experimental ConGlomeration. Oil is cheap. Internals...not as cheap.
I didn't know how to put it politely.......sledding dangerously was the closest I could get, but I like experimental ConGlomeration better lol
Anymore than 32/1 is a big waste of oil for a 8000rpm engine,,and if you don't ride with the throttle pinned to stops/Wot,,you will have gooped up powervalves and foul plugs,,won't run clean etc,,smoke like a chimney,,,you will not get a full day ride before having to add oil
My 04 drank oil. But then again it also guzzled fuel... So for me it was 2 tanks of gas and the oil light was on steady. She only got 6.5mpg
