Weird. There seems to be two part numbers for these new muffs. I can't remember where I read it but 860202207 apparently supercedes 860202812.

I'm looking at my 860202207's and they definitely are the described magnet ones.
I just noticed the two part numbers as well. They appear to look the same, guessing the difference is magnetic connector vs velcro.

Side note: I purchased mine from skidoooutlet.com and the description for 860202812 does call for Magnetic opening and closure...

Called Ski doo, there is two models. 860202812 (velcro) is for fourstrokes or two strokes, 860202207 (magnetic) is for two stroke only. Sounds like there may be an issue with the magnetic closure and the throttle on fourstroke models???
Good to know. I checked - mine are definitely velcro, no magnet. That being said...I don't really see the downside? I guess just easier to take on and off?

So weird because below is the BRP description of the 860202812 right from their website.

"Stay warm even in extreme cold conditions. Our snowmobile Handlebar Muffs have a magnetic opening and enclosure for more hand movement, and a wider transparent section for better visibility of control switches.".

Oh well I have a 4s with magnetics. I'll run it and see what happens.

I have a 2024 Enduro 900ACE with turbo. Bought the muffs with the magnets. Warning, warning, warning Will Robinson. The magnetic muffs cause error codes if your sled has the ITC throttle control. Take them off and all is well. I put my old muffs back on and will sell the new ones. That's probably why Skidoo has 2 part numbers.

Regarding closures. On the old style muffs, the gap at the bar always leaked. Just a little but if I was wearing a thin glove, the cold air coming in was like a needle. I ended up taking an old #1 Phillips Screw Driver, heating it with a torch and melting small holes along both sides of the gaps, then used larger zip ties to "Stitch" the gaps shut. The larger zip ties sealed the holes. Works Great.

To fix the way the muff flopped around on the end of the bar, I found I could tap out the ID of the bar to a pipe thread size. Cut the end of the grip flush with the end of the bar. Tapped the bar ID. And with washers and some plumbing parts, bolted the end of bar surface of the muff hard to the bar. The silly little push plug was a joke in keeping the muff stable. I opened up the end hole in the muff with the same #1 screw driver, and used a punch for the leather bit.

Not sure if the above would be useful on the new muff, or if what I found on the older stuff is applicable on the new stuff. So, for what it is worth. :)

Aw, crap. The two sets I just bought are the 2207 ones, which I think have the magnets. I had no idea fitment would be an issue (stupid me, it's BRP) but after reading this thread I did a little research. They say NG on the two 900 ACE machines we have. They sure look like they will fit physically. You may have identified the issue, thanks.

I just mounted mine on a 23 MXZ 850 XRS and they slam hard in to those mirrors of the Gen 5 Med windshield. Are yours doing the same and you are Ok with partial movement of Handlebars or do you ride with bars all the way aft so they don't hit?

I adjusted my FAR so they hit in the forward most position, the rear 2 positions they clear. I rolled the riser a bit back on the steering post.

My wife thought is that when using in the forward most spot, you rarely turn lock to lock on the bars.i normally run in the center spot on the FAR.

Took the new ones back today, as I only install them when really cold, and on the week long saddlebag trip, they would take up way too much room in my bag. Ordered the old style.
While I like the idea of the magnetic closures and rigid construction, I'm with RENX22 on this one. Saddlebag real estate is at a premium. I'll stick with the old ones.

I see they may take up alot of space but do they fold up easily for those warmer days?
