Jack Stand Versus Lift

Any thoughts on a rear jack lift versus a stand. I know a lot of people who just lift the back for summer storage but strikes me that a stand taking the weight off the entire sled is a much better option.

There’s absolutely no point in having it suspended all summer long. I’ve never understood that. Gravity will not hurt them, I swear, especially if sitting in a garage with no moisture under the track or skis. Only time it will hurt them is if someone only jacks up the rear end and puts all the weight on the front springs. After sitting that way for a number of years without being moved, the springs may start to sag. It’s a snowmobile and does not need to be treated with white gloves. They get the crap beat out of them each time we ride. Just once I’d like to see the scientific evidence on this practice. A gravity stored sled vs a suspended sled at 1, 2, 5 year intervals and compare. The owners who suspend are probably less than 1% of sled owners world wide.

thats my thought. first time ive owned a sled with a 3 inch track and the lugs look like they could flex and possible cause some wear over time... i saw the ski doo clip on summarizing and they lifted the sled then slide wood under the track between the lugs to keep the lugs off the ground. maybe thats what ill do
