You can use the newer LH switch off the XS chassis. I'm planning to do the conversion to my 2010 Renegade this winter. Here is a thread regarding it

The other option I was thinking of doing, would be replacing the current XP switch with the XP XRS setup (as shown in photo)

 

Does anyone know if this switch would work or what the difference is? Says it fits an 08 800r. I would assume it should fit an 08 600sdi as well. For some reason there’s two different part numbers though

The control on your 08 600sdi look slightly different in the parts diagram. Would you be able to take a couple photos of the one currently on your sled? (top, bottom, side)
