I believe it is just a new container. I think XPS formula is same, whether it be in the newerer, betterer black container vs the olderer, badderer yellow container. They changed caps.

They both have both PWC and Snowmobile highlighted as compatible with.

When I Googled each of the numbers one came up as a ski-doo number and the other came up as a Can-Am number. Not totally sure but it just might be one is the newer number for the oil while the other is the older one. I have not heard anything about any oil reformulation so as long as its the XPS 2-stroke full synthetic oil, I would just use it regardless of which number. I personally buy my XPS from Bulk oil so that or any number doesn't even exist as far as I am aware.

Oil for sleds has a different viscosity than for watercrafts and dirt bikes.

The boat motor oil might not do well at freezing temps.

 

Both bottles pictured have the PWC and Snowmobile hi lighted, which indicates either bottle can be used in either machine.
