Anyone been on a spark? thoughts? 60HP or 80HP doesnt seem like much, but they weight only 400LBS. Thinking of running the vtectuning turbo on one.

Yep, have 2 of them. My son and I both have the 900HO (90hp) Sparks. His is a 2 up and mine is a 3 up. They both have ITC, but we didn't get them with IBR. As for the sparks themselves, we love them. The low end torque is unreal. You put them in the sports mode and hit the gas. They launch so hard that you swear your out of the water. They are also very lite weight which makes them very fickable, kind of like the old xp's. If you enjoy doing figure 8's, 360's and jumping, their hard to beat. But if you looking at top end there are others faster. My sons is faster as its a 2 up. Top speed on mine I seen is 53 mph. As for the v-tech tune and turbo, can't say anything about it.......sorry. I know that a lot of people buy the 60hp as it's cheaper and put the v-tech tune on it making it over 100hp. You can do it to the HO, but the increase it like 12hp or so. There are a few forums for the spark with probably more info. Anyways, we enjoy them and looking forward to riding them while I wait for my 16 MXZx 1200 to come in the fall. We're heading up this weekend to reinstall the batteries and get them ready to ride.

Added I should add that I like the 900 so much that I wanted to spring check a 900 in the "X" pkg. With Doo not making it available I went with a 1200. The sleds available with the 900 didn't impress me. The difference in price between the Blizzard 900 and the MXZx 1200 was a no brainer, not to get the 1200

We haven't had any problems with either one. Both have over 50 hours on them. The only thing done was a recall on the steering columns as they can break and the tabs on the left side cover can break easy. We rode all summer with them and in the fall took them to a dealer for the recalls. We also had them winterize and change oil on them. We plan on doing the winterizing and changing oil ourselves from now on. Only took them there for the rcall and figure let them check them out at the same time.

I have a GTR 215, it's 800lbs but does 68MPH with two people on it. i haven't tried the spark but i'm sure it's a lot more maneuverable than the other Sea-doos. I can make mine do pretty much anything but you definitely have to put the throttle into it. Throw it in Sport mode and you better be ready for it when you crack the throttle, it has insane torque.

Well here is my thought, I can go used for 5k with the Supercharger in it, or spend 5k on a stock 90HP doo and another 3500 on a turbo. Yes its new, but twice as much...I dont know...
I forgot what the supercharger rebuilt cost but I've heard if your hard on it they need rebuilt around 50hours witch who isn't going to be hard on it? It wasn't cheap tho, something else to look into

Longevity with these engines doesnt sound very good. 50 hrs on a supercharger? 100 hrs is too much on an engine? One-two years of fun and its time for replacement.

Put 180+ hrs on a 2007 155 (no supercharger) - never had any issues, only sold it at that point because we had the highest hours of everyone we rode with! It's uncommon around here to see these things with more than 100hrs, even if they're 10 years old!

Much different than sledding cuz you take it out and screw around for an hour, take someone on a tube, whatever... It's not like sledding where you're on the thing all weekend.

Question: dealer has a 2007 rxp 215 with 100 hours for $4999...is that a no brainer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
RIO- 100 hrs it will probably have at least another 100 without anything major, I think $4999 is very high considering we picked up a 2010 with 8 hrs on it in 2012 and paid only $8500 at that time - it's probably depreciated to $5000 now. There's definitely a better deal out there for that ski.

Be careful in the used market though because you never know who left plugs out and sank the thing on the mooring... With all of the electronics you could end up chasing ghosts around the things forever... We had this issue with the 2010 we picked up (and it only had 8hrs on it! not even out of break-in period!)

If you're buying a used one and there isn't a warranty - make sure you look it over REALLY good and try to make sure it actually runs well in the water for a bit before you're stuck with it!

Just my $0.02

Very good advice. Used Marine toys are a whole different animal to most used toys. Especially if used in salt water.

Exactly. The PWC I bought was mint, the guy even rode it from his local marina to mine, and told me to run it for a full day.

That's when you know it's gotta be decent.

And, when you open up the engine compartment and it looks brand new... That's a good tell tale sign that it's been taken care of.
