Is there underseat storage?
The petrol tank is under the seat but there?s a small one under the racket for the 2-up seat and as you see the cargo box. For utility one can fasten almost anything instead of the 2-up so i guess I could carry supplies and so up to the weight of a fully grown man there (100 kg:s), enough for a 3-4 day trip including extra gas

What is the real weight of this sled with the 600 SDI motor. The new 2010 Tundra LT with the 550F is being listed at 475 pounds. I also would like to know how is the flotation of your Commander in really deep snow with this body style.

318 kg with topped of gas and oil tank, totally clean from snow and ice, without the original tools (their quality belongs only in the scrap yard) and weighted on an approved scale.
It?s about 700 pounds but still a lot lighter than the Yeti chassie.

Flotation in deep snow/powder of the kind we have in Scandinavia is a lot better then the Yeti to, have tried it with about 40-50 cm powder with another 50-70 cm of "soft" snow below and it floats real good, especially with a pair of SLP PP mounted, of course when to go climbing in deep snow you reach the limit pretty soon but it?s rarelu those conditions for us here

On the dark side, just as "lafwitch" point out one has to treat it with the aluminium chassie in mind, you can never get the same durability as the steel chassie in the Skandic/Yetis but it?s not built for long jumps and bad landings either, it?s built for us middleaged gyus that want to have fun sometimes but mostly pull the family around, but you can do that in style and speed to.
As for to body protection I agree and the aftermarket skidplates doesn?t do any good, the machine needs a full body protection like the one RPM Composites make for the XP, if there?s not anything like that up for 2010 i?m going to make one myself after vutting of the protection plates under the gearbox and brake assembly with about an inch, that way one can make a belly protection plate much smother/rounder.

Nonetheless it?s a great machine so far and i wouldn?t trade it for the heavier Yeti but I will get a secondary for the heavy duty work, a ST 600 HO/Skandic 600 HO 01-03 , had one a few years back ant that?s a machine you can use hard without breaking it and it only weighs, with steel chassie about 15-20 kg:s more than the commander.

It's too bad that the new Tundra LT is only available with the 550 Fan cooled motor. I really like the fact that you have the 600 SDI in your Lynx. It was a very dependable and efficent motor in several of my past sleds. Now if the 600 E-TEC was available, I can see more people going with that for the better fuel mileage. To me, that would be my choice.

Longing for an Etec to to get some of the low range torque the 600 HO has, but as I understand they dont risk putting them in a heavier chassie yet, less fuel and heavier machine is no good for durability of the pistons and if you let the Etec get some more fuel it will be almost the same as the SDI, seen it on a couple of friends 600 Etecs, samt trip and type of driving and I go with 16 litre/100 km:s and the go on 1,3-1,4 litre/100 km.
It makes about 100 litres difference on a normal season on 5000 km:s so it?s not much even with our uptaxed prices for gas (1,2-1,3 USD per litre)

You?re right, windbreaking is quite good but it?s to small in real cold weather (below - 20 C) but it?s easy fix, either buy an extra high shield for about 1800 SKR (230 USD) or the cheaper way, make it yourself out of 2 mm plexi, make a model in paper, cut it out and shape it with a heating gun, for almost free you add 2 or 3 inches on the shield and thats what it needs in cold weather.
For myself i mount it with small plastic straps so it?s easy do take of when you want to feel the wind.
Same way one can also make som wind deflectors for the hands to mount in the holes for mirrors and also deflectors for the knees when running in the cold.
