found a sled that i may seriously consider purchasing. i have been in the market for a low mileage sled for quite some time. 2002 mxz 700 with 1900 miles. asking 2k with trailer. only problem is it doesnt have reverse. how hard/expensive it to add. i know that it should have been equipted with electronic reverse so do i need to switch the hole chain case. i have found a good used manual reverse assembly on craigslist for 200 but id rather go electronic. any suggestions. thanks in advance.

I have an 01 Summit 800 and I added reverse last year and it works great. I went with a mechanical one that I found locally. It was very easy to do, just takes time. You need to swap out the chain case, top gear can be sized larger or smaller, but the bottom gear cannot. So depending on gearing you may need to change the chain lenght.

Just make sure that the kit you are purchasing is 100% complete as dealer parts will cost you a fortune. I did a number of internet searches and found the actual manual to add the kit. If you decide to do it make sure you change the chain case bearings while you are in there. I purchased my kit for $300.00 complete, I believe it came off a legend.
