1969 Olympic 320 AS

Is there any value to this snowmobile?

Found in neighbors barn, don't know much about it.

It has a lot of compression but no spark.

Gas smells like varnish.

Serial # 69123_8329 (not sure what the 6th number is)

We live in St. Louis, MO but go to the Upper Peninsula quite often in the winter.

Looks like its in pretty nice shape.... put some fresh gas in it, try cleaning the points first, If that doesn't work I would suggest new points and condenser. Most likely a carb kit will be a must. Value is tuff, some people want to pay 200 bucks.... In good running shape I feel its worth 500 plus..... others might disagree. There are some really knowledgeable people on this site that can help you out !

My dad had this exact machine when I was little, and I have another one in my own collection. The 318 cc engine had a high compression ratio and was rated at 18 hp, which seemed pretty zippy compared to the very popular 12/3 Olympiques. In my experience that engine needs premium gas to keep it from pinging.

That intact carb box with the Bombardier badge still on it (!!!) can bring $200 alone. Rare to see the plastic belt guard still in place as well. Original seat too!

Common problems: The track and track sprockets on Ski Doos of this vintage seem to falling apart at this point in history. The built-into-the-chassis gas tank can be filled with varnish or rust.

I see these (in barn-find condition) generally trade in the ~$300 range, usually without the carb box, so figure that into your price.

I think the 320AS does have value in that it is an AS= aluminum sleeve motor. Maybe they last longer
That is the sled that sold me on skidoo way back in 1969, all my friends were buying Snowmobiles of different Brands. The guy that owned the local service station had a new skidoo 320AS 18 hp Olympic that would clean up on all the 24 hp sleds a round. I was so impressed with his Olympic I Bought a 1970 340 TNT SR the cost was $1049.00.
