XRS CHANGES

The recent supertrax magazine has a section which said that the MXZ-XRS is going through some minor changes. Also said that spring break tour models were not close in some ways to the 440. Does anyone know what the changes are. Maybe braces?

i have not heard this, and if they change anything and its not for the better of the sled some one better be there to explain it to me and better make sure i understand why the changes were made.
I agree. The same topic is also on the supertrax web site, but gives no details.
They better let us know, that is BS.... It better be for the better of the sled!

Well just a guess but I don't think that Skidoo is going to make changes to the sled that are worse. I don't think that would be very smart of them.

Any one know?
Ryan
since when have they done smart things?? don't know what the changes could be but if they change anything to lesser quality or different suspensions they are gonna have alot of "edit for bad language" customers that may be the last straw. wouldn't be something if they got delivered W/o the take apart shocks?? hmm what else would they really change maybe a few less racing braces?

I believe part of what they are talking about is the fact that the xr-s is not built on a true 440x chassis, it will be a normal rev chassis with some of the braces off the 440.

well yeah that is a true point, but everyone knows that, everyone has known that for like the last 5 months, maybe they are going to suprise us and put the 800r motor in it.... but i think ill be snowmobiling in hell when it freezes over before that happens.

Yah that would be nice! If anything doo will cheap out on something, don't forget about all those poor guys who bought 04 adren package sleds and got shafted with POS shocks.

Ya they probably sold way more then expected so we'll screwed over in some way I'm sure.

here, does this make it clear enough for you...

"specifications subject to change without notice" its on the paper work when you plunked down your spring order cash...

there are ALWAYS changes between the spring proposed offerings and what you actually get when put into production, they are always small changes, most are to up reliability... (the sled you saw in spring was just a mockup... )

but according to snowtech (which is right about 50% of the time) the shocks allow adjustments so you can have an "adrenaline like" ride all the way up to a "440-x like ride" seems impossible to me but that's what they are saying... no pipe heater, etc.

Ladies and gentleman, it's almost time to bend over..............
Here is a dyno sheet for the sc4 rear arm. Clickers make a difference but not night and day
Top of graph is compression and bottom is rebound.
Snow-tech said the XRS they test drove last spring looked like a 440 with different decals and a motor..........and it rode harsh, and the asked "how is this going to be trailable?" and ski-doo respoded that it would be softer in the final version......

I hope it is not too soft, cause I'll be up-set.!!
The snow flap looks to be different judging by the pictures in the General forum...not the hard 440 look-alike like they had @ the shows in the spring.

When REV-Rider and I rode the prototype XRS back in January, it was setup with the 440 calibrations.

We were told that the consumer version would be softer then the true race sled setup.

I asked why?

They market them as a ditch banger and a ditch banger should have a stiff suspension.

Buy a GSX if you want a soft ride.
i totally agree with you on that
