Will This Exhaust Work?

Well i just bought a motor off of ebay(2003 550 Fan RER) and am going to mount it in my old 1997 Formula S 380 becuase the 380 motor is about to go in it.

i am getting everything i need but the long banna kind of pipe...that attaches to the y pipe on the motor and to the can...well i posted a wanted ad in the forums and a guy came back saying he has a pipe for a 500F S chassis sled...now this isnt what i wanted but it also sounds like it may work becuase i know it would fit in the sled right becuase my sled is an S chassis....but what i am wondering is if it will perform properley? is there going to be enough backpressure for the 550? compared to the 500 it used to be on?..also will it be the same size pipe? will it fit over the y pipe properley? mainly i just want to know if it has the right amount of backpressure to make the 550 bark like it should...even if i have to do slight adpating modifications that would be fine.

if anyone has any insight on this...please let me know

How much did you pay for the engine?

IMO I would try to find the 550 pipe for optimum performance

I am sure the 500 pipe would work but may rob some HP

i paid $360 plus shipping...and i got the motor,carbs,both clutches,airbox and can(but no pipe) and RER switch assembley

yeah i would liek that pipe...but it just seems extremley rare...and ski-doo wants $500 for it..

$360.00 wow what a deal I have never been able to find a 550 on ebay.

cant even pick up a 503 for that price
yeah...it was a steal..im not sure how many miles are on it..but it looks to be in good shape...and that was a risk i was willing to take

ended up being $485 shipped to Fargo ,ND in 2 packages...shipping was a little pricey but what can i expect for a motor and everything..

pictures are there if you would like to look...it needs a couple small parts..one of the little plastic peices that goes from the carb to the airbox is broken and other things like that...other then that i think it was a steal of a deal...i was watching it since i started and had me and my dad both bidding on it to so either way we would win.

if anyone has any insight on the exhuast thing please let me know!!

Thats awesome putting a 550 into a 380 chassis. Good lil sleeper if you ask me. Hope you can the exhaust worked out.

yeah it should suprise a few people when its done..lol...i cant wait for the extra power becuase its exactly what i wanted.

anyone with insight on the exhaust matter yet?

only thing i can see is it wont line up in the holes or the brackets, but thats just an educated guess, all cans are about the same for back pressure to a certain degree, they dont make to much of a difference. goodluck with swap

shouldnt it line up though if it is for an S-chassis sled and mine is a s-chassis?

um those are all for liquids:S....from what i know noone makes an aftermarket pipe for the 550 except for AAEN and its for a REV chassis..
