I have a 23 MXZ XRS 850 129” track. Which ice scratchers do you all recommend for cooling? The rail mounted ones Part #860202330, or the tunnel mounted ones Part #860202267? Are the replacement carbide tips the same part # for both. I tried searching and don’t see much on the rail mounted ones. Opinions and experiences would be appreciated.

I ran the tunnel ones last 2 seasons, 👆right, they throw all the dirt, mud, etc up onto your back and linq bags. Not a big fan, felt like not enough of their snow went into a 129, friends with 137s seemed to work much better. I switched to rail mount for this year, hopefully they do a better job cooling too.

Not the BRP ones, but I put my old tunnel tips on them.

I’ve never had ice scratchers on any sled I’ve ever owned…was thinking about it this year for my new one…but gotta cap the accessories spending now..spent more than enough on it already. To be honest I’ve never really had a need 99% of the time where I ride.

But I like that set up. If I were to get a set…it would be that one.

I had the tunnel with the 129 last year. The big pro is you can enable them without getting off the sled...just lean back and away you go. And they work. The downside is they don't throw a whole lot of snow anywhere but the heat exchanger, and they're pretty messy.

This year I went to the rail mount ones because they're the ONLY oem scratchers that work with smart shox 129s, so I didn't have a choice. They look like a very high quality part and shoud be much more effective than the tunnel mount ones, because they're right at the very front of the rail, instead of right at the very back.
