I'm in the same boat as you. But I think I am going to wait till 08 and see what ski-doo come out with. Rumors about new chassis!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing is though what happens if skidoo goes to new chassis that looks like the freestyle or the yammah phazer.

I'm also in the same boat, I want an 800r liquid cooled case engine in a 121' trail sled. I suspect this will be a mid season release, problem is buying mid season sucks. Going to look at and 06x this afternoon.

I am sure you will find an '07 left over!
really depends on what you are riding now... and its condition...

if pre 06 then get a new one, the SC-4 and LRH were GREAT improvements the biggest to the REV since its inception...!

But the differences between 06 and 07 are nill! (for flatlanders) so I say get an 06 left over (if you csan find one and the price is right!)

If you buy right, and doo makes some major splash in 08 you can get one then too!

Sure fun spending other peoples money...

I try doing that with my parents and it doesn't work anymore they say that I am to old.

I am waiting for th 08. I want the new chassie. I don't think that there is a big enough difference between the 06 and 07, so I will wait and hope that skidoo brings something big up.

The 800r is gonna be great next year, but it will still maybe have some tweaks to be made. First chassis year is always the worst..its nice to have the second or third year. I think the 09 models will have a refined 800r and refined new chassis, so I bought 07's to get me through to then so I don't have to deal with all the new chassis engine problems. My strategy.........my $.02 My wish 09 has the renegade at 144 inches! 800R light weight

Im not sure how long the 800r motor is going to be around for, from my understanding its more of a steping stone, it already is machined for direct injection from their outboard motors. direct injection will be sweet, then if the new chassie is up to par all the other companys might as well close the doors!!!
Gade hit it on the spot. I would never buy a first year anything. Look at how much changed from the 03 to 04 rev. It's the same rule you follow with automobiles. Let someone else deal with all the kinks that need worked out, wait a year or two and get a refined piece of machinery. Also like 4e said direct injection is on the way, four strokes are the future my a$$!!!!!
Same here, I got the 07 because from the looks of it the issues have been pretty much sorted. For me, snowmobiling is expensive and very limited time. If I drive up north, get a hotel/condo for a long weekend, then I spend 2 days in the dealer getting the sled worked on...that's no fun.
I have read that Doo will be premiering a new chassis in the mod class for Duluth. I'm very curiuos to see it! If you can wait, I'd hold out until February and see what the new 08's look like. If no big changes happen then pick up a left over sled in the spring.
