Ok, I'm no math whiz but when you think of it this is one scary fact of math and money.Send this to every body you know that works with money, or is a government employ. Send it to your elected officials both in the USA and Canada. Lets get real on what we are letting them spend in our name.

What Is A Billion?

The next time you hear a politician use the word
"billion" in a casual manner, think about whether you
want the "politicians" spending your tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend,
but one advertising agency did a good job of putting
that figure into some perspective in one of its
releases.

a. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

b. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

c. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living
in the Stone Age.

d. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth
on two feet.

e. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20
minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain,
let's take a look at New Orleans. It's amazing what
you can learn with some simple division. .

Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D), is presently
asking the Congress for $250 BILLION to rebuild New
Orleans. Interesting number, what does it mean?

a. Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of
New Orleans (every man, woman, child), you each get
$516,528.

b. Or, if you have one of the 188,251 homes in
New Orleans, your home gets $1,329,787.

c. Or, if you are a family of four, your family
gets $2,066,012.

Washington, D.C . HELLO!!! ... Are all your
calculators broken??

You opened my eyes!

You hear billion so often on the news, you don't think twice about it anymore.

I'll definatly be passing this around.

THanks PAPA

I'm not a math guy either but I remember hearing something on the radio years ago that if I were to give someone a million dollars at a dollar a second it would take months and a billion would take something like thirty years?Any ways, it's an awful lot of cabbage.
b. Or, if you have one of the 188,251 homes in
New Orleans, your home gets $1,329,787.
I would take $329,787 and build a new home out in the country. Put the other $1,000,000 in mutual funds and other money markets. And live off of $80,000 a year in minimun interest.

or Buy 8 homes in Idaho and rent them out for about $60-70,000 a year. After 10 years passes I would then sell them all for $2,000,000. And live off of $150,000 a year in interest.

Just how do they justify giving that much money to that City? Don't most people carry home owners insurance?
I have beendown there and i dont think some of those three walled shacks they live in are worth $1,329,787. Its nice that the government has a bottoms less check book, wish I did.

Wow those are some crazy numbers. One thing to remember is that with that 250 billion dollars it isn't going to all go to the homes. It will also be going towards roads, and business, and parks, ect. BUT still that is kind of crazy...

Just think, Bushmaster is spending 8 BILLION PER DAY trying to save the world!
We owe so much money to other countries that they might as well hand over the keys to the White House.......
