I have a 03.5 7C 800 with 1900 miles on it and while going for a ride in the new 10" of snow we got, my sled died and seemed to sieze.

I got it home and started pulling is apart. Clutch side piston and head is damaged, looks like something let loose and got chewed up by domes. The cylinders look fine.

I have both cyl. and pistons off and my engine won't turn. The cluth side feels like it is jammed up, can't budge the pull/start cord.

I am not sure what happened. My spard plugs looked good, I was just cruising when she died. I am affraid I have lower end damage, and I don't even know what that means.

Any help would be appreciated.

From your description I would say that a PTO crank bearing 1 or both let go and that is why it is locked up and pieces of it is what created the damage to the piston and head, it may have been created do to the end seal. - Bill

How can I tell if I lost the crank brearing(s) and how big of a job is it?

Any info. or tech notes or diagrams would be greatly appreciated.
