I have had my snowmobile for a year now and i would like to get more power out of it. I am thinking about putting a clutch kit on it but wanted to hear what you guys thought. What are the best upgrades you have done to your sled. Be specific to what things becuase its hard finding parts for the 2006 600 HO sdi. Thanks for the input.

Any information would be great. THanks
I've got the same sled... Clutch kit from Joey will help, ordered one for my 07 800R also.

Delete as much weight as ya can.

I ripped out the foam under the hood. Allready cut off the clam shell around the clutch cover, because I added Doos oil holder. I also added Doos running board reinforcment kit. I also put on the filter and grill covers, to keep the snow out. Put on a set of ice scratchers, delete the boggie wheels. I put a J&T can on it, saved alot of weight. Cut some holes in clutch cover and side panels to let out the hot air. etc., etc.

Good luck
Hey I also have the same sled. I think that i will get the clutch kit from Joey and i was also thinking of an HPS or Thing can. The can does not have to add any power but i also dont want to loose power and i dont want it to be real loud. what are you thoughts?
I ripped out all the foam from under my hood and replace with heat tape. Panels never get hot after a long pull.
I took the dooey skis off and run these light usi x models = nice.
I run aaen pipe/muffler and lost 14 lbs there.

My front end is super light now.

Oh but I just bought a 121 x 2" track and that should be a good time. har har har.
Can you say "catwalk" tee hee hee.... View attachment 64370

OK you've got a few different thing happening here. To get better performance there is a couple ways to go.
#1 lose some weight - people say foam under the hood, aftermarket can (see #3),unless you do significant engine work keep the stock pipe but you can lose the clamshell and ceramic coat the pipe.
#2 Get the power from the motor to the snow - First lose the black cover off of the clutch to cool off the belt and whenever you change your belt stay with OEM (alot of aftermarket belts don't hookup very well), SLP hot air elimination kit (same reason), clutch kit mod - there's alot of options here I think less is more unless your doing big motor mods and always talk to the pro's (dynamo joe or big john).
#3 Put more power in the motor - I'll keep this one simple. Talk to a pro, tell him where the ride and how you ride and how much you want to tweek with the sled after you get the work done then you can have an intelligent conversation about what is right for you. I think less is more but that's what is right for me. and oh yeah the can and pipe are a tuned part of the motor so before you just buy something for sound or cost talk to the engine builder. I prefere the phone becuase 10 minutes is worth hours of this back and forth typing stuff. Here's your engine link.
