I started a thread on this a few weeks back, and it seems that everyone suggested a 1.5 ripsaw, which is what I really wanted to do. I also had a lot of suggestions of dropping the top gear 1 tooth when adding the higher profile track. But we are waiting until summer for this project!

exactly what i did 1.5 ripsaw 1 tooth down chain should fit but there insn't much room for adjustment and i plan on changing that out for a shorter one just to take some of the sharp curves it takes to get over the gears 1.175 will be rough for a trail espically if you stud it.

if you do that you aren't really dropping teeth then are you? if 2 for 1 bottom top dropping 1 then raising 2 will be the oppsite direction?

It's just like a 10 speed bike. Small gear on front is for low. Big gear on front is high gear.

On the back its the opposite. Small gear is high, big gear is low.

The top gear on a sled is the front gear on a bike.

If you go bigger on the bottom gear, you are gearing down.

Just think 10 speed bike
