but generally use the Otter for short trips

the dog sled has a rear hitch and is a great way to bring along some helping hands !

There's one of these in my near future

You owe it to yourself to search out the sled thread in the Skandic or Tundra forums , there are some really great examples from a wide variety of locations , lots of great reading . :wink_old:

It was a saucer and 30' of rope when I was a kid, and whip the saucer into anything that would inflict pain. Ahhhh, good times.

I grew up at our cabin getting towed behind a 4 wheeler on a metal saucer sled! I don't know how I am still alive. The road to our cabin had a state park at the front entrance. The road was lined with posts, basically cut off telephone poles, that were about 2' out of the ground. The perfect height to be hiding just under the surface with some deep snow. Don't know how many times I was bounced off those! Also at the corners they plowed the snow up into banks which I would swing up to as he went around the corners. I can't even count how many times I flew up and over the tops. The best part is that there was a huge opening for a turnaround, so he would start doing donuts with the four wheeler which would sling me faster and faster until centrifugal forces overpowered my strength and I went a flying! I still can't believe I was never seriously hurt. Those were the good old days. Sorry for hijacking the thread for a quick story. But in a thread related story I was born in November and was being towed behind a sled in a sleigh with mother when I wasn't even a year old. Times sure have changed. I'll see if I can dig up some old photos of the sleigh.

Step on, grab a handful and hang on.......

I will have a look, Touring Sle ? One of the best all around sleds out there imo. My father has a Mint 1996 sle I will try and get some pictures of
Yes , great bang for the buck on those sleds , I try to have one around as much as possible for a donor ride for friends or something to beat the bejeebus out of if need be .

So I have to find something I can carry my dog in. It's a 25 mile ride into our cabin and sometimes the trail can be groomed, wooped out, or 3ft of powder. I can probably just drop a kennel inside one of the tubs but even going slow wouldn't he get beat to heck? I don't want to buy one of the crazy sleds with suspensions, $$$ and tippiness are deterrents, but what are my other options?

I had seriously considered building a cab like this one for my Komatic
