What is everyone getting for top speed on these 900t or 900r
For the life of me i cannot get over 105mph
Last year was reving 7900 25/45 could get 103mph
did a 27/45 got 105 out of it
This year 27/45 reving 8400 can only get 105 out of it
P drive clutch dalton ramps
44/40 helix
Maybe 1000ft runs at that for distance.
i would like to be able to hit 100mph in 660 but is it possible without going to a tapp (plan on it next year this season sucks too bad to invest in a clutch id have to wait a year to dial in)

23 900r, hit 114 gps on hard rail bed. Averaging 106 gps on normal conditions. 27/45 gearing. Have kory reeds clutch kit but the kit really didn't do anything top end, just a monster corner to corner. Running the xs821 belt. Runs 7800 to 8000rpm all day long

The best I've ever seen speedo was 120mph. I've seen 119 speedo a couple of times.

The funny part is the top speed recall has never shown more than 118. My sled is on its third gauge, (2) of them have seen higher than 118 but 118 is all she'd record.

No worries, the reality is I don't really care too much about top end but I usually will do one top speed run once a year. So for my sled hasn't disappointed.

I'm running the 1.5 IR too, which certainly isn't a high speed track.

100 in 660’ on ice or trail? It’s not the P-drive because I did that years ago on trail with my old green wheel turbo on the middle tune. I was running the stock track with two 1.63 triggers/bar. These sleds don’t top end well in trial form but they get there quick. I didn’t like the 821 belt. Slowed my sled down.

The 821 slowed mine down too, until it got some miles on it. They tend to get better after some miles. The 120 it saw this year was with an 821 - the highest number its ever done. The belt had around 800-1,000 miles on it at the time.

I'm sure some of the speed increase was also the sled waking up. My 900T keep getting better too.

We have a a 2019 900T Adrenaline for my wife and I have a Xterrain 900R. My wife has recorded 113 on her gps on perfect trail conditions for speed. My Xterrain is tapped out at 100-101 gps.

I tried the XS821 and I thought my Xterrain felt sluggish compared to the 571. It would only pull 7,500rpm vs 7,900-8,000 with the 571. I took off the 821 after 800 miles. It was my favorite belt for my Sidewinder, but this sled won’t pull it without clutch tuning.

The 27/45 gear ratio is only good for 105mph if its not in overdrive/full shift. Guys that are getting faster than 105 and getting more shift out of their clutches. Go on the hurricane performance website and play around with the gear calculator and you will see. I am also struggling to get full shift out of my machine so I keep making clutch and gear changes.. ill get there lol

Oof - One of my 600r (renny adrenalin) has 107 listed on the dream meter as top speed...

Does the Xterrain not have different gearing based on what track it came with like a 49 or 51 bottom if so that's a major difference compared to your 900T at 25/45.

Stock or tuned ecu?
105 gps or speedo?
Stock primary & secondary springs?

#13 · (Edited)
I cant remember whats in it for springs,
I think the secondary is stock spring
But the primary i dont know
Pure turbo running 20psi
And that speed is on the speedometer, sled pulls hard on the trail and like it just went out to the ice yesterday and couldnt win anything because of how slow it takes to get from 75-100mph.
Ice track or snow track its just plain sluggish to get to 100in 660

That changes everything. My guess is you have alot more going on with that sled no one would put a pure turbo on a stock 900t. It must have a ecu tune from someone.
If in fact you do have a stock secondary spring it was a torsional spring and not very good and prone to breaking. Maybe this is your problem.
Who did the work on the sled.
Also this guy has been down this path he can give you good advice see post #5 above.

Speaking of the new xs821 i tested one last week... and yes i see a good 225 rpm back and now in touch to the 8k. as before.
I plan to provide the secondary a Dalton red-yellow (on order) for better corner exit and maybe flatten out some my wot rpm as the pulley shift as it drop 200+. Also waiting for a fresh doo primary 350 but that was before the numbers with the new 821.
The short test field had a curve so i had to let go some to steer and all i could do is 10 sec long. At 112 mph there were few more to come. 1 inch of wet snow on top of hard pack. 29 degree F. GT 900R with medium windshield and full gizmo in the cargo box.

If you have an old 821 belt run that back to back with the new 821.
Where is this new found rpm coming from its not an increase in hp, It's belt slip.

I did back to back testing last season with the following.
571, 114 mph
531, 116 mph
G Boost, 115 mph
821, 119 mph

The 821 was a good 200 rpm lower 7800 but it would mph much better than any of the belts above with cool and clean primary.

My objective was to show my speed for the croud to compare, the post meat, but obviously throw in my new 821 swap to the new version. Been logging my GT the past 5000 km so that rpm difference is there and no joke. Speed is a different thing and as @muskokadoo note it require a back to back same condition comparison. However 212 above was not unusual with the old belt. I will carry the old one in the trunk should the opportunity shows with a better stretch ... hope we recover from last WE rain.

2022 enduro 900R. with 1.25" studded. On snow also in quebec hit 187kph and trip meter said max of 190kph. I've spent years radar running and have had many fast sleds. I know what real 118 mph feels like, and that wasn't it lol..... I'd guess real speed was probably 106-108??? But i will say my sled can out run top end of my friends 2024 xrs 850 with the 1.5" track by a fair bit....at least 10 mph
