I just got home with my new front shock springs. Going to use same shocks, but with the new heavier springs. Do I need to buy the Ski-Doo shock spring remover tool (p/n 529-035-504) or can I do it without their tool? If I can do it without their tool, how is it safely done?

Want to get them installed...but didn't think I would need a tool. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks....Alaskan

the tool is not needed.
Adjust the spring tension to the lightest setting.
grab the spring with both hands, put the body end in the corner of the room where it meets the floor and compress the spring. Have some one remove the retainer. Do the same but in reverse for the install

Ya what oconnor said. you need 2 people to do it you just need to push the spring down as hard as possible then have somebody pull the retainer out. The tool would be handy but for how often you are changing the springs it does not pay for its self
