I have searched and it seems one needs to “press” out the check valve on an HD Tilly, most guides say “press towards carb throat” I believe…

But mine seems to be an odd duck and has a line with holes up the sides on the other side of the check valve that would prevent pressing it out that way.

Anyone know how to remove this check valve? Tillotson HD83a

This type checkvalve is non salvageable and must be destroyed in order to remove.
Reach in throat of carb and cut tube, then drive out pieces.

Ah dang. Here’s my situation: I have 2 carb bodies, one with bad check valve but otherwise good, one with stripped threads for high speed jet but good check valve... what to doo?

can a new check valve like this be found still?

can I do something to repair the threads?

replace w another carb?

They are quite hard to find but now and then I see them on Ebay.
Not sure about repairing threads though.
