Just picked up a great condition 1990 Safari L last night, and the only thing that was wrong was that it needed a tie rod end.

I’ve called around and the part is discontinued and can’t be ordered anymore, so I’m wondering where I can get it or if a newer one would fit or one that’s not “specific” for the machine.

I know my best bet is to find one off of a parts machine, just asking if anyone knows if any other tie rod end would fit.

thanks in advance!

Yes, they are pretty much all the same. I'm using one from a 1999 Polaris on a 1990 Safari. They are opposite threaded on each end, so you'll need to know that. The one in your hand there looks like a right handed thread. (unless the photo is inverted)

Welcome to Dootalk,

Go to Kimpex web site and download there on-line catalogue, and find one using the thread diameter and pitch direction, as stated they are pretty much all the same, it is most probably a metric one tho, just measure the thread.

This guy has a lot of hard to find stuff.
