Yes the 440x's are higher in the front. The 2002 440x was the highest ever at 11.5 i belive. The only difference is the shocks. Not sure on the eye to eye measurements between the two, but i'd imagine it's at least an inch or more of a difference. If you want yours to sit higher, find a pair of ZX 440x fronts for your sled, they'll bolt right in place of your stockers.
