Update: two Toni's were delivered to new homes today:

#105 sold to a Gentlemen in NIsswa, MN. He's going to restore it back to an actual racer complete with the M10 that Toni ran. I think he has a relationship with Toni as well.

#62 sold to a Gentlemen in Verndale, MN. He's a real snowmobile enthusiast...collects all brands and has some really cool stuff.
Thinning out the herd?

What are the differences between the Toni sleds and the Houle sleds? Is one better or more desirable than the other? Which is the most rare?

Depends on what you like. Both are equally rare as I believe the production numbers were the same - 400 made of each. The TH is a 670 twin and is more in the design of a cross country / snowcross sled. The Houle is an 809 triple and it serves a different purpose - cover a distance faster than anyone else. As it is a triple it is heavier and it lacks the suspension niceities the TH has.

Both are fast sleds. The Houle seems to fetch more money and you don't seem to see as many of them.

Hi everyone,

I thought I would introduce myself to the TH group as the proud new owner of #56. It is currently listed on your registry with Revel Shockworx as the owner. Revel sold the sled to another TH owner who ended up selling it to me this fall. The sled is in excellent condition and I'm in the process of cleaning it up.

A little history about why I purchased my sled. I've been riding Ski Doo's my entire life and back in 1999 my 5 year old son and I were out riding one Saturday afternoon and stopped for lunch. When we were walking across the parking lot there was a brand new TH sitting there and I fell in love with it... I've never seen another one in person and haven't come across one for sale.... I have been looking for a Mach 1 X / Plus X or TH for a couple years without any luck until last month. My sled was posted on a site for about an hour when I found it, I reached out to the owner and picked it up the next morning...

Anyhow, I've read this thread from front to back multiple times however haven't had time to introduce myself until now.

I'll post my clean up and riding pics and looking forward to joining the proud owners here. So far I have about 18 hours into cleaning and polishing, have started to purchase some new parts etc.

thanks

Newts XRS

Could anyone tell me if this is an authentic TH, I've never seen this edition as an MXZ"x". I may have to track this down if it's a rare one...
No that is not a special edition model or standard with the "X". That was added and the decal was available to purchase from the dealer from an MXZx race sled. I had also added that to my model when I had owned it. Who knows maybe this was mine from years ago when I sold it.

Just wanted to update the list. We just picked up #197. It’s mint with only 1500 miles. I’m on mobile but will upload pics when we get home.

Number 80 is officially dead, Finished tearing it down today. When I pulled the bellypan, I noticed that the bulkhead was bent. Would explain why the muffler hole would not line up. IF anybody is looking for some parts let me know - I have an air pump, carbs, exhaust pipe (the heat shield is shot but pipe is good), chaincase, jackshaft, fuel cell - I have two decent hoods - one better than the other. Also have two Cobra windshields. Keeping the trailing arms and shocks, as well as rear skid.

I hate destroying these things!!!! But, now that I look at it, it was DOA when I bought the rolling chassis because the bulkhead was bent. Glad I got it cheap as the parts will complete 164 and 363.

164's head is a bit beat up - the mag side piston came apart and pounded the head a bit. Polishing it out as you can't find these heads.

I'm really sad to hear #80 is dead.. father had purchased that sled new back in 98/99. Brother kept the plaque. Can you message me I have a few questions on it. Was really hoping to track it down:cry: any idea where the hood is?
