Hey everyone - I thought it would be a neat idea to create a thread to discuss the sled of my dreams - the '99 MXZ 670 HO Toni Haikonen edition. I bought one of these new back then, but sold it shortly after because I was getting married/had to buy a house and all that jazz. Now, 16 years later I bought one from a nice boardmember here, and I quickly remember why I treasured this particular sled so much. Loved everything about it - the power, the aluminum tunnel, the numbered low windshield, the brass numbered plate, the custom graphics, the black idler wheels, the aluminum bumper, the hood cutouts around your shins with the removable foam plates for cooling, EVERYTHING!! . I'm trying to restore her to original as much as possible, so I'll do the best I can at keeping you updated :) Right now I'm looking for the original windshield, so if you have any leads please let me know! Also, thought this would be a cool place to put any Facebook Marketplace/eBay/Forum/Craigslists finds for the sled, and a place where we could keep track of who has what. Chime in if you own one and I'll add it to the list. Let's have fun!! Here we go:

The ole arm tanker:)My first modern new sled was a 98 Mxz 670 with head cut,cyl shimmed, shorten y pipe Don Emery mod , UFO's in the 40roundys,clutching,wisecos,144up the middle.Won 700 improved class grass drag circuit till I met up with a 670ho..got me by 2 500'..Was a big Haikonen fan and actually met him and his team in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He and his team were chasing snow doing testing they said.Pretty good time my buddy was talking smack because he a had a pretty quick mxz583@ the time..anyways always wanted this numbered rotary valver.Found one locally a few yes back so I went to check it out, pretty rough it had been beaten down.I wasn't really into it,then the guy said she runs good take her for a spin out in the field. So I did had a grin ear to ear in helmet.I couldn't believe how it felt and I honestly thought it had a big bore kit for sure, but I didn't say anything to him till the deal was done.I asked him if motor had been freshened Cuz it rocked,he said well I was told its a 720 Cuz I'm beating 800 twins with her,but didn't know for sure.Anyways I had to know so I tore it down&it was an original 670HO standard bore with 5200 miles..Lol..Note I had been riding factory racer 440's since 01'& this was back in 09' Lol..I ended up selling it thinking I'll never find a good one.Wrong:) I ended up buying this one for my girlfriend knowing she wouldn't like it&want something tamer, well she rode it 2 seasonsons&loved it.First trip she broke blood vessels in fingers&had blisters from 2days of riding in upper peninsula.Well she's on a mxzx440 now&this sled is pretty much retired as it is my collector.I'll be dropping in a Russ Lemke mod 114VP race gas motor in to trailer it out to Lostpines Lodge on Saturdays for some drag racing action but its trail days are over for now.No I'm not selling any of the stocker parts..Lol..sorry for the length of this post but I have a love affair with the RV670's...

Awesome story onthepin!! Can't believe you found that beauty locally! I'd really love to find a collector one someday - something that looks like it just came off the showroom. Onthepin & black-doo - how many miles are on each of yours now?

Love the posts & stories - keep 'em comin!!

3400 it was in Canada&a guy brought it across border by Windsor when I bought this one.
Oh yes, I know that border quite well - used to make a lot of trips across the 401 when I was younger when we went to visit my aunt & uncle in Woodhaven, MI.

And here's another one I missed a little while ago...think it's still for sale in Wisconsin:

Okay - a quick story for you guys. So Tuesday I email Mark Olan over at DooDecals.com, asking him if he ever thought of making the "06" windscreen decals for the Haikonen sled. He said he'd really like to have the original, or at least a close up picture of the original decal. I emailed him pics of the most clear images I could see/find. So he says give him a while to see what he can do. I figured maybe a couple of weeks or so he may get back to me. I wake up this morning to an email he sent late last night telling me he's listed it on the site!!!!!!!!

http://www.skidoodecals.afegraphics.com/index.php?&cat_id=904

Then, for the heck of it, says he also added the console warning label for the 440LC race sled :

http://www.skidoodecals.afegraphics.com/index.php?&cat_id=850

I wasn't even aware that I was missing the console warning label!!! This guy/company is awesome!!!!! I immediately placed an order for the two!!

So if anyone is missing either decal - I can't recommend DooDecals.com enough!!
