Yes...you heard it here first...I will put big money that that new bottom end was developed along with way bigger pistons than the new 850 has.

Similar power output values would put a DI 1000 at over 190HP...can you imagine having a light weight ONE LITRE 200hp twin with anvil like dependability?

Yes...that would sell!!!

Well they increased the stroke to get to 850, but the bore remains the same as the 800. Makes me think there might be a larger version coming in the future.

Crankshop has a 1000cc version of the etec8 didn't think there was room to stroke but there is.

I would agree the new etec with direct pressurized lubrication of the bottom end can set the stage for the return of the 1000. People can knock it all they want but if Doo pulls the trigger on a Etec 1000 watch how many guys put their deposits down.

I had two 1000 sdis great motor just not reliable. Both blew at 3200 and 3800 miles. Lots of power and good on fuel. I would buy one again if they offered it.
