These cases are still in the neighborhood of 1 in a million - very rare, but they obviously can happen. That is what you have to point out.

I feel with you, my daughter just started preschool and things like this makes me wanna homeschool them at times, but then on the other hand were is a safe place?, at home something could happen too! like the crazy babysitter who put the childeren in the washer and dryer .
For now i just try too teach my childeren not too talk too strange people and not too go with anybody that they don`t know.
As far as talking too your 9 year old, tell him the truth , but also tell him not too worry too much about it and that a lot of adult people are trying too watch out for the childerens safety. Good luck!
