Hey Guys,

Just removed my stock head and am about to replace with aftermarket head, I drained the coolant out of the bottle and didn't see any coolant of the pistons once the head was off.

Any suggestions / precautions as I get ready to install the new one?

Should I use teflon tape or thread sealer on the coolant and temp fittings?

Any way to test once complete to make sure everything was done ok?

Should I remove the orings from the cylinders to clean them, do they have an up or down?

Anything else you would like to add?

Thanks a tonne,

Todd

I like to clean the orings in hot oapy water........but it is unneccasry most of the time........no up or down......I would suggest checking your squish.......and NO tape on the REV temp sensor......it is a straigt thread, and is sealed by the aluminum washer.........Yeess tape the carb heat hose fitting...... While you are in there, lookclosely at yur t-stat.........I have seen quite a few fall apat ancause problems.......replace if at all ? able.
