We have a 1994 ski-doo summit 583 with a 670 engine and 2 pipes.

It was always hard to pull but started after a few pulls.
Last year i was riding it and went full throttel. Then it suddendly died and now has low compression on the PTO cylinder(25 psi) the MAG cylinder has 117 psi.
i went and checked what could have caused this so i checked the carbs they were goup up. so i cleaned them.
There is oil in the coolant. It still runs on the MAG cylinder.

I know the PTO cylinder needs replacement part of the ring is missing and part of the dome too.

Where could the oil get in to the coolant?

Could all this e caused by a defect oil pump?

Or was it running to lean because of the carbs?

Should i get a new cylinder?

All help and advice is very welcome. Thanks in advance.

Burned oil, through the water seal.

unburned oil, through the water pump seal. youtube videos available on how to replace.

Probably not. Probably bad seal.

Or was it running to lean because of the carbs?

Doesn't sound or look like it was running lean, but rather washed via coolant issue.

Should i get a new cylinder?

Depends on how deep the scratches are. You can try honing and see how well it cleans up.

Do you mean the coolant washed the oil away?
