I have a 1996 Formula SLS that I want to stud. My questions about doing it are:

1.What stud can I install without getting tunnel protectors?
2.Can I use a certain length stud without moving any of the suspension?

The studs I have are 1.075 tall. I didn't buy them they were FREE.
What would I have to do to install these studs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Luke

1. There isn't such a stud. Unless they are shorter than your track lugs.

2. I wouldn't. Unless you want to replace/weld heat exchangers on a regular basis.

To install studs like that, I would guess you're talking about Woody's studs here. Find someone that'll trade you for some 1.000" woody's studs.

If you do want to run those, tunnel protectors, bulkhead protectors, drop suspension to run on holes further away from the tunnel, and run your track VERY TIGHT.

I ran 1" studs in my F-2000 chassis (same chassis as your SLS at least as far as the tunnel is concerned) and did chew through my exchangers with the suspension in the stock holes.

Well I might end up changing everything around then. Thanks for the info!!!
I was curious If I could just get away with the bare minimum. Probably have to get tunnel protectors and put the suspension down lower in the tunnel to install them.
