What can a renegade 900 ace do that an expedition sport 900 ace can't???and vice versa.

I am still weighing options of what to buy... I am looking at the 2016 models and just want the best bang for my bucks!!!

Thanks, Rodney.

The two will turn the same on the trails because the articulated rear skid will act like tipped up rails. The Expy sport has a deeper lugged track and more track for going off trail, but not too much lug for on-trail. Plenty of people chose 1.5" lug or more for 90% trail use.

The articulated skid also gives you a chance at backing up off trail. Without it, better not plan on going anywhere in reverse other than on hard packed. The second seat on the Expy also means you can take someone with you without blowing a ton more money on a new seat, and as mentioned above; lets you pull off the second seat for tons of cargo room.

The only things the Renegade has going for it is r-motion, shocks slightly and I believe the option for the molded in lug studs.

The 42" wide ski stance vs. the 38" ski stance can be a plus or a minus. It depends on how much you are off trail.

Basically; if you'll be pounding the trails, get the Renegade (I like the Enduro that comes with air-ride and lug studs) if you'll be off trail 25% or more, the Expy starts to look a bit better. At 50%, it becomes a no-brainer. Lets not forget that the Enduro (I know, not one you are looking at, but I love air-ride) also cost a bunch more than the sport, but the Adrenalin comes in slightly cheaper than the Expy Sport (I'd call the difference insignificant at the cost of these machines).

If you think you'll ever want to ride 2-up, any cost savings with the Adrenalin way more than disappears. I purchased my sled just for me, but find I have a passenger about half the time.

nothing like getting to anxious for that first ride, heading out too soon and wrecking your sled....
Cheaper to stay at home, turn your sled on its side and beat on the bottom with a sledge hammer. At least you won't be burning gas.....

I was in exact same position all fall, just now reading this post. I studied, examined, compared, and calculated and reviewed. I make one trip a year with "the guys" for 4-5 days that I would consider more extreme riding with lots of kms and deep snow. Other wise its family trips towing sled to cabins, some days hunting and crawling trough the woods, ice fishing etc. All my buddies said I should get a renegade cause when I'm with them I do alot of jumping and side hilling and getting bit extreme. Ididnt listen to them. I'm getting to old to be so foolish and bust myself and machine up. If I got renegade 900ace I would be doing things I should not. I'm hoping my purchase of the 900ace expedition sport will tame my ways some what. The cost was almost identical but the expedition already loaded up with longer,1.5" track, articulating, second seat, heavy tow bumper and hitch, and rack.

It's sitting in garage right now with 1/2km on it. I think I made the right decision. Only thing I don't like....the white. I liked the burnt orange of the renegade.

It has been my experience riding my friends renegade 600 etec back to back with my expy sport that the two are not even close in trail handling even with the articulating rail. the expy wants to push through corners the renegade would rail around. His was a 2011 so no rmotion, which would have improved ride quality also. I agree with groo, if you are going to be riding trails without a passenger most of the time, get the renegade, since the expedition sport is not a trail sled. If you are going to be doing more off trail riding, or carry a passenger, the expy makes more sense.

I have managed to put on 30 km on my expy 900ace sport, in the field beside the house...

Cant comment how it will be for me yet, but I am getting off a 1999 polaris 440, and my other was a 2004 polaris 550(parked most of the time)

I am definitely gonna love the upgrade...Last winter I tried couple of renegades with the 1200 and I see that my expy is a lot lighter up front...which I like.

Waiting on more snow!!!!

Drove 22hrs west to Wyoming over the weekend to chase the snow.

Got my first ride in on my Enduro 900 and put on 80 miles. I came off a 2013 800 ETEC and I'm not disappointed.

It was -11F overnight and it fired right up first thing in the morning. It is so quiet you can hardly tell it is running.

If you are a trail rider, I don't think you can go wrong with the 900 based on my first ride.

I was talking more turning radius. My wide track Expy was laying down a turning radius within a couple inches of my buddy's short MXZ on hardpack.

handling dynamics have a crapload of factors in play, so I wouldn't even want to guess at that.

Best bang for your buck would be in Canada if you are American right now with exchange rate well in our favor. I could have bought this in America for about $12500 plus tax however the price became only $9400 in American funds and no tax if I use on my own 136 acre farm, by buying across and importing the sled. The dealers have a deal with the manufacters and will not sell across the border on Brand new sled. This is considered used with only 5 miles, lucky for me. The 600 Ace Tundra LT is nice but I am betting the 900 Expedition will be nicer.
