Hey guys, looking to see if you can help me figure out an issue with my 2013 Renegade X 800 Etec.
This season I've been having a heck of a time starting it. Most of the time now, when I put the DESS cap on the post and then hit the start button, nothing happens. I don't mean that it doesn't start, I mean, exactly nothing at all happens. What's strange is that if I wiggle the key around and keep hitting the button, about 65% of the time it'll start. About 65% of the time when I pull start it, the key works fine and I ride away. But the other times when I pull start it, I get the beeping and rev limiter until I wiggle the key.
I thought at first it was the start button but 100% of the time, when it's running, it will go into reverse. Because of that I really don't think the contacts in the start button are a problem at all.
The dealer, over the phone, told me they didn't think it was the key. Before I go pay them a billion dollars to poke around, I wanted to see what you fine chaps thought...
