Speedometer on an 04 600X Renegade

I just recently purchased a 2004 600 X Renegade with 1900 miles on it. The speedometer needle is stuck at 30 mph. Has anyone else had problems like this?

make sure the cable isnt broke, they wont work if the cable is broke, only way to really tell is to dissconect cable from spedometer and pull and if it comes out its broke. if it spins that is also another indicator that it is broke, they usually show zero but im not sure

The Revs have electric speedos on them. They no longer used the cable style.

My friends did the same thing. Dealer said he needed a new one
