Dont worry - I am sure Jenny, Debbie and the other Demos will save you and all of us....

Then again there is always the VA....

(Incidentally my mom had an interesting coversation with some Vet families in both the US and Canada - seems for as tiny as the Canadian forces are they take good care of thier service personel - during and after service, much better than our government.)

Having actually used the health care systems on both sides of the border I can attest that ours is way over bloated - but as long as the industry has a hold in DC you can forget ever seeing it 'fixed'... (one day I need to get one of these diatribes I have on this subject off my desk...

It's America's own fault.

Look at the problem our nation has with obesity. The poor are fat, the dumb are fat, heck look at a lot of snowmobilers … fatties, too. For the love of God put down that donut. And fat-free food does NOT mean that it is not loaded with carbohydrates, corn syrup, sugars, etc.

It cost everyone in this nation major $$$ to cover the higher health care costs of all those tubbos.

Then there is poor, that are too lazy to sign-up for free healthcare and go for some FREE check-ups. So they wait and go to the E.R. when the problem is really bad, and since they have no money, they don't pay, and the hospitals just bill the rest of us at an inflated rate to take care of the lazy deadbeats.

Don't get me started on all those with STDs that spread them around like wildfire.
Its all about GREED just like Kevin Trudeau's book on "natural Cures" states.
People are losing their health care at daily alarming rates.
I'am also sick of the freeloaders, they get almost the same health care I get and pay 0. This is one reason why my costs skyrocket so they can get it for nothing!
I say it is a dog eat dog world now so if you cant afford it then go die somewhere and leave the working guy alone!

I have had to deal with the Canadian Health care and as long as I have insurance I will stick with Stateside health care. Canadian system was just a down right scary trip. I had to take one of my teeens to emergency with a broken arm. Jay

The health care costs of major companies have been running ridiculously amok for some time now. And as long as they the companies showed a profit, No one cared!!! Let the good times roll.

Now times have changed and I may say thanks to the UAW for all the health care benefits, is what we have now. This has be going on for years, so I am sorry but it comes as no surprise.

Same paper 5 months earlier
The little blue pill is leaving General Motors Corp. with a very large bill.

The world's largest automaker, which lost $10.6 billion last year, is shelling out $17 million annually for impotence drugs such as Viagra and Cialis, said GM spokeswoman Sharon Baldwin.
While the so-called "lifestyle drugs" make up a small fraction of GM's overall health care costs -- now hovering at $5.6 billion each year, or about $1,500 of every vehicle it builds -- company executives often use the example to illustrate how out-of-control health care costs have become in America.
GM, which provides health care for 1.1 million employees, retirees and dependents, is the world's largest private purchaser of Viagra, the popular erectile dysfunction drug produced by Pfizer Inc., whose sales reached $1.65 billion last year. The pill is covered under GM's labor agreement with United Auto Workers, as well as benefit plans for salaried workers.
Ford Motor Co. declined to say how much it spends on erectile dysfunction drugs, and a Chrysler spokesman could not provide the hard facts.

I hope you're NOT blaming the UAW for the reson health care is such a mess.

The United States is the only country in the world where the poor people are fat. Think about that!!!

I still dont know why GM and Ford havent opened up thier own hospitals yet.... it has to be coming.

Scott Fertilizer got control of its health costs by creating thier own clinic and hiring their own doctors....
