Hey guys. I run a 2014 Renegade Sport 550F strictly for ice fishing. I've kept the sled totally factory with the exception of a sonar , Ice auger rack , tow bar and hitch. I've noticed on numerous occasions my sled darts in the snow packed parking lot (loading and unloading) and the lake on hard packed sled trails and bare ice areas. I'm contemplating changing out my carbides with the SnowTracker Semi-Aggressive Steering Stabilizer Carbide Kit . Anyone have experience with SnowTrackers on a Lake or for my type of riding? Thanks :)

Thanks for the reply. I had the toe checked. It’s good. I’m thinking the Woodys Maverick Carbides in a 4 or 6 inch. Still deciding. I basically need more bite on the lake when it come to frozen flood water and packed down snow where it’s at the point of being literally ice. originally was thinking of the Snowtrrackers but have been told wont help much.

I ended up ordering the Woodys Maverick 6 inch runners .
Being on the lake 95% of the time , I figured that design and length will give me a better bite on that type of terrain. I rarely go top speed do to towing an sled full of equipment and sometimes a second rider. Hopefully these carbides will make a difference.

New carbides are great but setup is most important for handling. I might do some research on suspension setup. Your owner's manual has a good section on this with basic explanations on all your suspension adjustments. Good luck.

Snowtrackers on both my sleds. They are self-sharpening and always have good grip on ice and great wear out of them also. I've tried them all over the decades and my money is on the ST. Semi aggressive ones would suit you just fine with a power steering feel also.

Those Maverick bars are just shaper bars. Hard steering darting junk. My old shaper bars, Stud Boys, lightly worn are now welded onto the side plates of my clubs 6x8 Mogul Masters rear side plates so they don't wear the rear side plates, which protect the pan, down when we drag the sides of roads.

Repairman54 Thank you for your advise. I'll get my mavericks on Friday. I'm regretting them already by what your saying. Did you personally try the maverick bars ? The Stud boys were made in China and made from substandard metals. Alot of them actually broke. The mavericks are made in the USA and are of a way higher quality. I'm confused now .
