I have lost touch -Are they stopping 440 class for 06 and replacing with 600 class?

Please post only if you are 100% sure.

If the 440's are no longer then does this mean a possiblity of being able to buy a race sled with out being a racer??? like the 440. i wouold buy a 600ho in a 440 chassis in a heartbeat, but until then i am stuck with the sh&%ty x package that is suposed to be "race ready"

According to Tom Lawrence at race school this year not for another couple of years. Then they will become 600s but I do not see the price of the sleds becoming cheaper or the availability any easeier.

The latest word I heard from SD was that a vote by the manufactureres was going to take place this winter to decide what to do about the open class. SD said they were voting to change the 800cc class to 600cc for 2006. My understanding was that the other mfgrs were voting the same way. My source at SD felt the 440 would probably follow in a year or two.

If you are waiting to buy a 440 racer with a 600 in it, you'll have to wait longer. Maybe a couple more years.
