Smith Goggle user's.....

568 Views 21 Replies 17 Participants Last post by  SLeDHeaDDude800
I am going to the sno-x style helmet and goggles this year and will be getting some Smith Snow Warp TI goggles, but I want to have some spare lens's for varying light conditions or in case of fogging, snow in the goggles, etc. Which ones do you guys use? The goggles comes with the dual PMT Sensor Mirror lens, which seems like it will work for the majority of riding conditions. I definately want a clear lens (dual, ofcourse) for night riding and was also considering a yellow tinted lens. Here is Smith's lens selections and descriptions.

Thanks in advance!!!

I use Smith and yellow is a good choice it works for both day and night for me.
I keep a pair of clear lens goggles in trunk just in case but almost never have to switch.
and I cant see schitt at nignt!!!!!!
get a quick strap, you will love it.

also you should NEVER have a fogging issue with good goggles, Smith or Oakley
I had a terrible time with Scott
I have Smith with rose colored lense. Will be getting clear for night riding.
Matt will you be adding the Quick strap to your goggles?

I love mine!!! FYI I use scott goggles.

Hey Matt,
Your gonna get a variety of reply's on this one. I've been wearing goggles for over 10 yrs. now, I wear one, and carry two others, (ya gotta love that tunnel bag on the REV's ) - Yellow , Clear , and Smoke. Generally cover all light conditions.
Now last year I bought the Pro-Vue Goggles, Smith, non- prescription , and I got the 7 lens that snap on and off.
I love 'em!!!! I got yellow, orange, blue, green, rose, grey,,,,,,etc…. snap 'em on and off thru out the day. $100 for the complete package.
Not much difference between yellow and orange - ok for evening / dusk time.
I like the blue. Green is ok for semi-bright days. Rose (and blue) is good for flat light days.
I got the quik-strap setup. I wear the Pro-vue's, then also keep a extra pair with a full strap incase the quik-strap lets go, (never has for me, goin' on my third helmet with them, but ya just never know) then depending on the weather I'll also carry an extra pair of Smith's with a real dark smoke lens for super sunny days.

But..if you start out with Clear for night, yellow or blue for flat light , and Smoke for sunny days, you should have it covered.

I have used snow warps for the last 3 years and i just stick with the yellow lenses. I keep a spare set of goggles in my back pack just in case, but i have never had to use them.
You got a link or place where you got that $100 package?? What all was included in that??
I have that exact pair, best goggles Ive had. Lense isn't to dark to wear at night either.

Matt I have been wearing Smith goggles for over 15 years now and would never go back to shield... Anyway, I use clear lens all the time as the clear will allow the most light thru lens and gives the clearest vision. This is a fact and with all Smith goggles there is a card that comes in box that tells each lens and how much light that lens allows thru... I like the new Rose colored ones for only daytime use but for night anything other than clear is taking a chance and is also illegal in MOST EVERY state. Last year in NY they started writing tickets for guys wearing smoke or colored lenses/shields at night. Think about it, you can't avoid what you can't see...

Also get a Roko Quick strap they work really good and will save your goggles from getting wet when you stop for a break on trail...

Thanks for the replies fella's!
Sounds like I may get a clear lens for my backup/night riding to start out with.

Revgod, did you have a link for those quick straps? I've got a pair of Smith's Warp TI moto-x goggles for my quad, and I looked into the quick straps for those, but it didn't look like an aftermarket quick strap would work with Smith's goggles....maybe I was wrong? Do you have a pic of these quick straps on your goggles?

Quick straps here Matt
I use the yellow night day, fog, sun does pretty good. I have the quick strap and love it no more looking for the goggles or accidently dropping them in the snow if you are helping out a bud or a quick stop trail side. I was leary bout them just sticking to the helmet but have never came loose so all is good.
i see that you started this thread at 6:50 am. you would be at work right? i know you are not out of bed that earlier on your own time. but this is good to see you are doing your R&D work. keep up the good work buddy.
